DESCRIPTION:At one’s pleasure\nConsidering the complex relationship between simulation\, hyperreality\, spontaneity and performance\, Ad-Lib is conceived as an extemporaneous act – a momentary coming together of expressions\, objects and moments.\nExploring the tension between spontaneous behaviour and crafted performance\, a collection of work across performance\, sculpture\, painting and sound are caught in the act – frozen as decoys that lure the real.\nAs we collectively navigate a world saturated with media\, signs and spectacle\, Ad-Lib looks to question what we know to be real and what we understand to be simulated\, and how the blurring of the two might be reconciled.
