DESCRIPTION:Zara Joan Miller is an artist working across poetry\, performance and film. Her work seeks to unravel boundaries between human and non-human nature\, often playing with movement and sound as a way of reimagining a body’s rhythm. Zara is the author of poetry collection BLUE MONDAY (JOAN Publishing\, 2022)\, which was also released as a duo LP with cellist Ute Kanngießer (Reading Group 2023). Her work has been presented at Barbican Centre\, Frieze No 9 Cork St.\, Muse Gallery\, Horse Hospital\, Cafe OTO\, In Vitro\, Default Den Haag. \nAugustė Vickunaitė is a sound experimentalist who exclusively employs vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders to play\, record\, and create sounds\, articulating diverse layers of recordings including found material\, field recordings\, voice\, music instruments\, objects\, and the whole spectrum of malfunctions of decaying technology. Auguste specializes in tape\, noise\, and collage music. Her music is often dark and funny. \nEllis Berwick is a London based\, Brixton born artist making sculptures\, sounds\, things that move\, and sculptures which make sounds by moving. Looking at the contexts of sound and movement through the experiential\, mythological and historical. His work is rough and delicate\, industrial and organic\, and always noisy. \nBilly Steiger was born in Howth on the 16th December\, 1986. Now he plays the violin. \n“Then he sat down by a pond and began to play a tune. As he played\, the most extraordinary thing happened. One by one the fish in the pond began to jump out and fly about in the air. DESCRIPTION:An exhibition celebrating the beautifully vibrant drawing community in London. A network full of ambitious and talented characters\, meeting regularly to advance their art or experience\, bringing a valuable contribution to culture in the capital.\nBrought to you by Living Art and XYZ. \nThe exhibition opens with the PRIVATE VIEW on 12 March from 18:00 – 22:00 and will run for two weeks in the XYZ gallery. Everyone is welcome.\nThe gallery will be open daily from 10:00 – 18:00. \nThis show brings together many artists currently attending drawing groups in the city. \nMost of the art on the walls is for sale at very reasonable prices and all sales contribute directly to keeping the space open as well as supporting individual creators. \n  \n \n\nDrawing workshops\nThere will be several life drawing sessions in the evenings and an all-day portrait-club session held at the venue whilst the exhibition is running. \nThese events are open to the public however places are limited so please be sure to book in well in advance. PRE-BOOKING ESSENTIAL via the following links. \nLife drawing will be £15. Please ensure you arrive 15 minutes early to get set up! \nPortrait-club sessions are FREE with a discretionary donation. DESCRIPTION:“Adaptation” and “The Blackouts” are two thought-provoking photo exhibitions by young Ukrainian photographer and filmmaker Lyuba Bobrova\, created to draw attention back to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.\nPrivate view – 16th January 2025 – 6-9pm\nShow continues from 17th to the 26th January\nOpening Monday – Sunday\n12-6pm \n“Adaptation” presents a series of photographs of two Ukrainian families striving to rebuild and adapt their lives to the harsh realities of war. The series captures their previous homes\, destroyed by Russian missile strikes\, and their new homes\, which were constructed through the “Home Again” project. This initiative\, sponsored by Citi Ukraine and managed by the charity foundation “Peli can live” in partnership with the Rotary Club “Kyiv Capital\,” offers a poignant glimpse into resilience and renewal. \n“The Blackouts” is a collection of 12 photographs taken in the underground shopping mall during a blackout caused by Russian missile strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The exhibition showcases how Ukrainians continue their daily routines amidst challenging circumstances. \nEach photograph was carefully composed and selected to capture the harsh reality of life during wartime\, as people strive to find moments of brightness amid the terrible circumstances. \n \n \nLyuba Bobrova is a Ukrainian filmmaker and photographer. She is currently studying Content\, Media and Film Production at MetFilm School. DESCRIPTION:An exhibition celebrating the beautifully vibrant drawing community in London. A network full of ambitious and talented characters\, meeting regularly to advance their art or experience\, bringing a valuable contribution to culture in the Capital. \nThe exhibition opens with the PRIVATE VIEW on 23rd October from 18:00 – 22:00 and will run for two weeks . Everyone is welcome! \nThis show brings together 77 artists currently attending drawing groups in the City. \nMost of the art on the walls is for sale at very reasonable prices and all sales contribute directly to keeping the space open as well as supporting individual creators. \n  \n \n  \nDrawing workshops\nThere will be several life drawing sessions in the evenings and a couple of portrait-club sessions held at the venue whilst the exhibition is running. These events are open to the public however priority will be given to anyone booking in advance. Select a date to head over to Eventbrite and secure your spot. \nLife drawing will be £15 and can be pre-booked or paid in cash on the day. Please ensure you arrive 15 minutes early to get set up! \nPortrait-club sessions are FREE with a discretionary donation.
