Analogue Marketing

Even though we live in digital times, analogue marketing should not be underestimated. When visitors come to visit your space it is great to have an actual printed flyer to hand over. Flyers are also fantastic to leave at coffee shops in the area. A bulletin board at local art schools and/ or local shops in the area. Some countries even have legal public boards to advertise your gallery and shows at.

Newsletter

You may consider creating a newsletter that incorporates:

  • Exhibitions
  • Featured artists
  • Manifesto
  • Jobs and Opportunities
  • Community events
  • Team stories
  • Testimonials
  • Network and synergies

There are considerable savings with printed periodicals, whether tabloid or simple in-house reproduced A4 booklets. The ‘opportunity to see’ value of these is comparable to radio advertising(CPM), one of the most efficient. These can also be produced with high res imagery that make them collectable and images often worthy of framing. These should live on a table, not lost in an IG feed.

There are many inexpensive online publishing platforms for these kinds of e-magazines eg. ISSUU

Postcards

Representing your artists and events with postcards, also give visitors the chance to take home something memorable. An invite to shows and a well placed QR to subscribe to ‘our mailing’ list is a fair trade. The economies of free handouts versus visibility beyond the space maybe intangible but expense not wasted where attendace is concerned. After all a significant part of your job is to expose the artists locally and to any and all who pass through the operation.

Flyering And Posters

Check in your area and be creative.

To think of before creating a physical poster, the format varies from a digital one. Make sure your logo is visible, and the dates, names of artist/s and shows are correct. You can not amend the flyers/posters if anything changes.

We also highly recommend printing out a QR code which links to your website or a digital ticket office or perhaps even your Instagram page.
